Hello Drum families and friends! Thank you for stopping by and checking out our blog! We really do appreciate you being here. Our goal is to help keep you informed about what we are teaching our students and to provide you with information about where we are going in the next week.
Last week was a great week in the gym with our students. We introduced them to the new “Thankful for Fitness” calendar that has been sent home for the month of November, and we informed them that any student who completes seven out of eight monthly fitness calendars will receive an awesome t-shirt at the end of the school year! We also taught and had students practice several of the exercises during our opening routine.
Students also had a blast playing Gaga Ball! Check out the video below and be sure to ask your student about it! (The video has a filter applied to protect student identity).
This week we will continue to focus on the skill of striking with a long-handled implement. 5th graders will work on developing their badminton serve, 6th graders will be developing both serving and rallying skills, and 7th graders will work to improve both overhead and underhand strikes in small-sided games.
Have a fantastic week!
Mr. Skinner and Mr. Fisher
