A little about mr. burd
Thanks for checking out the website! I appreciate you taking the time to get to know what Drum P.E. is all about! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I am a University Place School District Alumni. I went to Curtis Jr. High and Curtis High School. This is going to be my first full year teaching every day and I could not be more excited. Before this opportunity, I have had many different experiences teaching Health and P.E. to High School students and Elementary School students. I was born right here in Tacoma and went to Whittier Elementary School, where I then went on to attend Truman Middle School in Tacoma. After that I switched over to the University Place School District and never looked back! I played baseball for 14 years of my life and loved every minute of it. I come from a long line of educators with my mom and dad teaching for over 30 years each and my sister has been a kindergarten teacher at Evergreen Primary for 4 years! I have a cat named Fletcher who is 9 years old and a dog named Archer who is 7 years old. |
my education
During high school, I attended Tacoma Community College in the running start program. Then transferred to Central Washington University, where in the spring of 2023, I earned my Bachelors of Science in Physical Education and School of Health. I plan on going back to school within the next couple of years to earn my Masters Degree in education.

Outside of school
My entire life I have been a HUGE fan of Seattle sports teams. I go to Mariners and Seahawks games as frequently as I can. During the Fall months you can find me coaching Football at Charles Wright Academy with my dad and the plan is to help out in the Spring with the Curtis baseball team.
I also love swimming and fishing in the summer. One of the sports that I take the most seriously now is Disc Golf, which I can really only play on good weather days. During the colder months I will spend the day at Snoqualmie Pass and snowboard. Non-physical activity related, I love grilling up food on the BBQ. Steaks, hamburgers, chicken, you name it! Thanks for taking the time to read through and get to know me and Go Wolves! |
