Welcome back Wolves! We trust that conference week is going well for all of you and that you are enjoying the opportunity to meet one another (teachers/parents) as we all work together to help our wolves to be successful!
THIS WEEK IN THE GYM
The children finished up our 'Forearm Ball' unit on Monday and Tuesday by participating in the end of unit assessment. 5th graders demonstrated their ability to serve a ball with correct form and accuracy while our 6th and 7th graders were assessed on their ability to serve and forearm pass the ball back over the net. On Wednesday we revisited an old favorite, 'Fire and Ice Tag', which promotes whole class participation, lots of movement and is a wonderful game for the 12 minute period each class is with us.
Thursday and Friday we will begin our FitnessGram testing by having the children demonstrate their muscular endurance as they complete the 'Push-Up Test'. Students will also have the chance to show their level of flexibility by performing the Shoulder Stretch Test.

NEXT WEEK IN THE GYM
Our FitnessGram testing will continue on Monday and Tuesday with the Curl-Up Test (muscular endurance activity similar to sit-ups) and two flexibility tests: 'Sit and Reach Test' and the 'Trunk Lift Test'. Wednesday will be filled with lots of movement for our 6th and 7th graders while our 5th graders will be completing a 5 Components of Fitness Questionnaire.
AND . . . ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY . . . all of our students will be participating in the Pacer Run. We want to encourage everyone to bring a water bottle, wear proper athletic clothing, have on safe/appropriate shoes and come prepared to give their best effort with a positive attitude.
