Once again, thank you for visiting! We do appreciate you showing an interest in our program and what we are teaching here at Drum. Please come back often and spread the word! Thanks in advance.
We are wrapping up our mini floor hockey unit this week. Students are playing a game called, ‘Pucks and Pins.’ Students play in teams of two and attempt to knock their two pins down as many times as possible in 90 seconds, all while trying to avoid knocking down the pins of their opponents. The game requires accurate shooting skills and dribbling skills. It has been a big hit with our Drum Wolves - please ask them about it!
We have also been introducing and practicing three more Fitnessgram assessments to each of our classes. The Fitnessgram is a series of health-related fitness activities that assess physical fitness levels in children. You can find more information about each of the Fitnessgram Assessments by clicking here. Students have already been introduced to the push-up assessment and have been encouraged to practice at home. You can find the cadence that we will be using for the assessment here. This week, we have been introducing three assessments that focus on flexibility. Ask your son/daughter if he/she/they can demonstrate each of these for you - maybe even give them a try yourself!
Friendly reminder: all of our students are required to wear good, sturdy shoes for PE class. Boots, sandals, crocs, and anything with a raised heel do not provide the necessary support for students to safely complete our class activities. Thanks in advance for any help you may provide in making that happen.
Have a great week!
